I manage day-to-day operations, have weekly meetings with all directors and executive editors. I produce content for each of the sections, and am responsible for organizing editorials. Summer 2017
Worked with producers and desk editors to build out stories for web. Created headlines, teasers and search for images to accompany build-outs. Pitched and wrote original stories with digital coverage. I covered the Resist March and reported during the flurry of the Alexandria shooting. My stories individually received over half a million views on NPR.org and my live coverage of events included hosting on NPR’s Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter. Beyond reporting, I researched for fellow reporters and editors, and covered beats from healthcare to pop culture and technology.

I spent the semester in Phoenix, Arizona covering the Arizona State Legislature as the Don Bolles Fellow. I acted as a member of the press, reporting on whatever bills came my way, from appropriations to transportation, while still allowing time for weekly enterprise pieces. This fellowship is named for the Arizona Republic reporter killed in 1976 while investigating organized crime, and is awarded to tenacious and dedicated University of Arizona journalism students.

Researched and reported on the 2016 presidential race by utilizing data mining, data entry, data analysis and reporting and writing techniques for FiveThirtyEight, which focuses on opinion polling, politics, economics and sports.
